Chimaeras

Chimeras are small, mysterious sharks

that live in the deep water.

scientists are still finding new

species of them.

They have three names that are

chimaeras, spookfish and ghost sharks.

they have a poisonous spain and they

have smooth skin with no scales.

Chimaeras are sometimes

called ghost sharks or ratfish.

Chimaeras seem to be a combination

of lots of different animals!

Like sharks and rays, they have

cartilage instead of bone.
